Coyoacan Taqueria & Brew opens Tuesday June 10, 2025 You could say Luchita's is back, because the owners of this new restaurant are in the Galindo family, whose Luchita's Restaurants were favorites for lovers of Mexican food. There were several Luchita's around town, including one here, near the movie theatre, that was one of our most popular restaurants. We can once again enjoy Mexican food (lunch, dinner and later, plus take-out) and drink on the Square. The new owners have completely redesigned and rebuilt what many of us will remember as the former Balaton space. Cleveland.com just published this:
Coyoacan Taqueria & Brew is at 13133 Shaker Square. In the northwest quadrant, at the end of North Moreland Blvd. To learn more and to make online reservations, visit their website coyoacanoh.com The "soft opening" will be 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday June 10.

Cafe Indigo has opened in the old DEWEYS space |
A good coffee house, as Dewey Forward's place was for many years, can be the heart of a neighborhood. Melissa Hirsch, a creative local entrepreneur who operates Cafe Unbar on Larchmere, has opened Cafe Indigo in the old DEWEYS space at 13201 Shaker Square.
The new cafe offers ice cream in addition to coffee and other
traditional cafe items, such as sandwiches, soups and salads. |
