About This Photo
For 15 years, ending on May 31, 2019, this space was Dewey's
Coffee, run by Dewey Forward. For many it was the heart of
Shaker Square.
In 2018, when much was being said in fear of strangers, Dewey put a
sign
in the window for all to see. In Spanish, English and Arabic
it said

we're glad you're our
neighbor. |
Melissa Garrett-Hirsch hopes for her Café Indigo to be a place where
all will feel welcome. She was glad to accept Dewey's offer of a Welcome
sign.
